A new video speed gun is set to be trialled by British police forces.
The TruCam contains new technology which collects more data simultaneously than traditional cameras. As well as recording the vehicles speed it also captures the driver on film meaning that officers may have irrefutable proof of speeding by motorists.
The data recorded by the TruCam speed gun can be stored on a memory stick meaning footage could be emailed to motorists so they can see it on their home computer.
Mike Ricketts, head of sales at Tele-Traffic, told Auto Express magazine that ‘this new device collects more data simultaneously than traditional cameras and all that evidence gives the police much more chance of getting a conviction.’
